Why I Started The Next Chapter Co.

After more than 20 years in corporate marketing, I found myself wanting something different—work that felt more personal, meaningful, and connected to helping people during important transitions in their lives.

The inspiration for The Next Chapter Co. came from my own family. Between my brother and me, we've helped our four parents through five moves. We've navigated everything from helping my dad and stepmom leave their longtime home for an independent living community—and several moves within that community—to helping my mom and stepdad relocate across state lines.

Along the way, I learned that moving isn't just about packing boxes. It's about sorting through decades of memories, making difficult decisions, letting go of things that once mattered, and figuring out what comes next. It's emotional, physically demanding, and often overwhelming for older adults and their families.

What I discovered is that I genuinely enjoy bringing order to the chaos. I love organizing, creating plans, managing details, and helping people make progress when a project feels too big to tackle alone.

Today, I combine those skills with patience, compassion, and hands-on support to help older adults and their families navigate downsizing and moving with less stress and more confidence.

There's a different kind of satisfaction that comes from helping someone clear a room, settle into a new home, or finally make peace with a difficult decision. It's not just about moving belongings—it's about helping people move forward.

I help people decide what to keep, what to let go of, and what matters most for the next chapter of their lives.

And that's why I started The Next Chapter Co.

Every move is different.
